- Fundamentals of Jainism

- Jain Philosophy
Jainism teaches non-violence (ahimsa), truth (satya), non-stealing (asteya), celibacy (brahmacharya), and non-possession (aparigraha). It emphasizes karma, soul’s purity, and liberation (moksha) through self-discipline, meditation, and detachment. Central figures are the 24 Tirthankaras, with Lord Mahavira as the last. Jainism promotes compassion, equality, and spiritual progress through ethical living.
Ethics and moral values guide human conduct by distinguishing right from wrong. Ethics provides universal principles for fairness and justice, while moral values reflect personal beliefs shaped by culture and upbringing. Together, they inspire honesty, kindness, respect, and responsibility, fostering integrity, trust, and harmony for individual growth and societal well-being.
Jain philosophy centers on the soul’s liberation from the cycle of birth and death through non-violence, truth, and self-discipline. It teaches anekantavada (many-sided reality), syadvada (conditional viewpoints), and karma theory. By practicing detachment, compassion, and purity, individuals overcome bondage and attain moksha, the ultimate state of freedom and bliss.
